Participant 10. Ege University (EU):

Ege University is a 51 year-old University, and the fourth oldest one in Turkey. It has extensive international relations through collaborative agreements of various kinds and of varying degrees with 137 different institutions abroad, is also within the European Accreditation System, gives EU Diploma Supplement (DS) to its Graduates, is a full member of EU Erasmus Programmes and takes active part in Framework Programmes. It also has an EU Documentation Centre established 40 years ago, functioning as a Euro Info Centre. It has close ties with other national and regional organisations and industry through its Science and Technology Centre (EBILTEM) which is an interface organisationaiming to provide an institutional structure for industry – academia partnerships.

  • Microalgal and macroalgal culture maintenance (WP1)
  • Crude extraction of the leophilized materials (WP1)
  • Optimization of algal biomass and bioactive metabolites production by changing culture conditions (WP4)

Expertise: Microalgal biotechnology, isolation, cultivation, and valuable chemical ingredients of  microalgae, the effects of culture conditions on growth and biochemical composition of algal biomass, photobioreactors and large scale microalgae production facilities.
